Good news!
Starting June 1st, I will tear down my "functional but funky" outdoor forging shop and build a new one in its place. This should make my work much easier in coming years.... so when the temps dip down to -30F outside - I will finally have warm feet!
During the shop building process, I will try to keep a supply of knives on hand ....but please check in for availability.
Two tools that won't be
available until the building project is finished are the 'skinny
sloyd' and 'deep hollower' tools.
Our other carving supplies

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do the tools come sharp?
Yes! - They come surgeon sharp. I mirror-polish, sharpen,
and micro-test each and every tool I make.
2. Are the hook knives difficult for novice carvers to sharpen? No,
suprisingly, this is because:
a.) I mirror-polish the inside of the hook - which
should never be touched again with a stone.
b.) The outside is stropped in a smooth sweeping motion
against a strop on a table. See Sharpening Instructions
page.
3. How long will my order take? We strive to make
and ship orders within 2 weeks.
4. Do I offer a sharpening service? No, sharpening
is a continuous part of carving. On occasion I have repaired tools,
but a good
diamond stone is usually all that is needed to do repair. If my
sharpening instructions are not working for you, please send me
a note.
5. Do we sell from our home? Nope, we really like
our quiet life!
6. Do we sell kolrosing drawings, plans or blanks? Nine
patterns come with the kolrosing video. See our list of pattern
books and specials.
7. Are your knives guaranteed? Yes! Pinewood Forge Knives
are fully guaranteed. See above.
8. May I copy any of the information from the web site?
