We extend a sincere
thank you to all of our customers for their incredible support.
With a new (last year) shop with more space and better organized
for Del to work in and his *hand on the mend, production is going
well.
*For those new to our
site, Del (knifemaker) sustained a hand injury March 2011. We
have been back in production for quite some time...However, due
to being shut down while Del's hand was healing, many of our
tools were backordered. We continue to work diligently on catching
up on backorders, and are making steady progress in that regard.
See details below.

update - Tool Availability - New Tool
Orders:
To see pics
of current tools in process scroll to the bottom of this page
Hook Knives, Open Sweep, and
Sloyd Knives: These are our most popular tools - so there is
a waiting list.
Please call or email
us with your tool needs, and we will happily put you in the queue.
This is the best way to get your tools "sooner as opposed
to later". To wait until we "catch up" only puts
you further behind, as customers continue to place their orders,
being put in the queue.
Harley and Stubby Knives:
We are caught up on backorders for these tools, and usually have
some on hand for new orders. However - they do sell quickly.
If we happen to be sold out at the time the order is placed -
- and depending on what stage production is in at the time the
order is placed - there may be up to a 3 week wait time. This
timeline can vary (meaning sooner).
Kolrosing and Detail knives:
We have in stock.
All other products - DVD's,
Sharpening supplies, cutouts, books etc: We have all these in stock and ready to ship.
**Check out our new compact
folding saws - these babies are SHARP and cut limbs/wood with
ease!! Exc. for spoon blank gathering, pruning, camping etc.
Highest quality construction & stay sharp!

Harley/Stubby
Knife Orders: We
are officially caught up on all backorders on these tools!!!
Yeah!!
{Note: For folks who have a Harley or Stubby knife order that
is combined with hook or sloyd knives - those tools still need
to be made.}
All Hook
knives, Regular and Short Slojd: We are presently caught up on orders placed
up until March 11th, 2012. We are starting a new batch which
will catch us up to March 20th, and should be completed by May
18th or so.
Hollowing
tools, Skinny, straight, extra long Sloyds; : We are presently
not taking orders for these, until we catch up on all backorders.
We will post on our website when we are producing these tools
again.

and Detail knives:

April 12, 2012
- For those currently waiting for tools I thought you'd get a
kick out of seeing them in process (here for example are Harley
Knives shown hanging on stainless wire) they've just come from
rough grinding and are ready to move on to the digital high-temp
austenizing salt furnace (for hardening).

This second pic shows a typical batch I do
for the heat treating processes, it is shown after the martempering
and tempering in the low-temp salt baths - and just after they
have been washed.
Next comes the most time consuming part - all the stages of grinding,
polishing, handle making, fitting, epoxying, touch-up, final
sharpening, testing, and sheath making - then.......finally on
over to my darling Mary to pass on to you! Del
In the left two boxes
are various Hook knives, Harleys and Short Sloyds in the third,
Sloyds on the right.

Funny surprise, Youtube
sent me a notice that my spoon-carving demo
passed 25,000 views, wow! - so now they want to give me money
-
(by adding obnoxious ads on top of it) oh well, no thanks YouTube....
I still hope to somehow have time this winter to make some more
carving tutorials, Del.

Photo of tools made
(& me Del Stubbs/Knifemaker) after a 2 month marathon to
fill several carving classe's needs, whew!
